Lapping Lily Pads
Dan and I visited the Conservatory of Flowers last weekend, with some friends who were here from out of town. It was my first visit, and I really loved the aquatic plants room.
I'll be doing my best to keep posting regularly, but we've got a big move coming up in September. Things are pretty hectic around here!

International Lily Pads
These lily pads are from the garden of the Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal. This shot is more about shapes, composition and colors than some of the other lily pad shots I have posted.

Lily Pads - Desaturated
The same image, desaturated with the Adobe Raw tools. This is the very first direct-to-digital image that I played with, and I was stunned by how much creative latitude the raw format gives you. It makes me not miss my darkroom quite as much any more.

Lily Pads & Rose Petals 1
Taken at the Rose Garden in our neighborhood in Oakland. This site is often used for wedding ceremonies, which I assume explains why rose petals weer strewn on the lily pads in the pond.
